Holiness is What Makes You Different

Praise the Lord God, the God of Israel, who alone does such wonderful things. Praise His glorious name forever! Let the whole earth be filled with His glory. Amen! Amen! [Psalm 72:18-20]

Holy Spirit I give God the glory for making a way for us to get back into a relationship with Him when He sent Christ to the earth to live among us, die for us, and then raised Him from death to be the pinnacle for our faith and hope that life is eternal just not here. You inspired Paul to write: “But now, having been freed from sin and having become slaves of God, you have fruit unto holiness, and the end is eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” And You inspired Peter to write: “Guard your minds, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. As obedient children do not conduct yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance. But as He who has called you holy, so be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, ‘Be holy, for I am holy.’” [Romans 6:22&23; 1 Peter 1:13-16] I stand on the principles that without the forgiveness of God through Christ, without the indwelling of the Holy Spirit within me, I am nothing but a sinful wretched being. With salvation and the presence of God in my life, I am not only redeemed, and adopted but also in the process of being holy. I know as I draw nearer to God the more impurity of life is removed from my life. I desire to get so close to God that one day just like Enoch I will walk off with God and be no more here on this earth.

Holy Spirit help me to write Your principles on my heart, walk with the humility worthy of being Your living, breathing temple that will shine Your light and Spirit to all around me. Help me to put my focus on Your wonder, but most of all help me to be obedient so that I can see who You are in my life.

I pray and ask that I may be filled with the knowledge of Your will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that I may walk worthy of You, fully pleasing, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of You; strengthened with all might, according to Your glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy; giving thanks to the Father who has qualified me to be a partaker of the inheritance of the saints in the light. You have delivered me from the power of darkness and conveyed me into the kingdom of the Son of Your love, in whom I have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins. You are the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by You, all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through You for You. And You are before all things, and in You, all things exist. And You are the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things You may have the preeminence. In Your blessed Son Jesus’ name, Amen. (Colossians 1:9-18)
