Help me to Be Meek so that I Demonstrate Control

Heavenly Father You deserve all of our praise. I praise You for the morning and for the night. I praise You for the food You provide and the clothes that I wear. I praise You for providing jobs so that I and my wife can support our family and pay all our bills. I praise You for my grandchildren. I praise You for my children and for my wife.

Holy Spirit help me to learn wisdom about meekness. I understand that it does not equal weakness. I also understand that Moses was considered meek and he was anything but week. I praise You for people in ministry who have taught me that meekness is like the bridles that keep the best horses and their power in check so that their strength is used wisely. Help me to use my strength wisely. Let me stay in control and not lash out when situations get heated. Help me to stay in control by putting You first in the situation.

Holy Spirit help me not to get prideful and think I can handle anything for I know this to not be true. Help me to not be so stubborn as to not see what You want me to see in most situations in my life. Help me to abide by the checks of the Spirit which prod me to avoid some situations and prods me to not react in others. Help me to turn to You and trust You have control especially when I do not.

Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offences, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them. For those who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and by smooth words and flattering speech deceive the hearts of the simple. For your obedience has become known to all. Therefore I am glad on your behalf; but I want you to be wise in what is good, and simple concerning evil. And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen. (Romans 16:17-20)
