Heavenly Father I praise You for the salvation that was given to me and the ability to live with Your Spirit inside me daily. I praise You for teaching me as I walk this earth how to learn to be righteous and live righteously. I will never be perfect until eternity but I know by the example of Enoch I can learn to walk very close to You. Help me this day to take command of my day so that I can [with Your assistance and power] shake all the evil from it.
Holy Spirit You inspired Paul to write: For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.” For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them….Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, who exchanged the truth of God for lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. For this reason, God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise, also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which is due. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do these things which are not fitting; being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them. [Romans 1:16-19 &24-32] Help me to be able to show mercy and forgiveness and love to these people for Your judgment will be in do time. Also, help me to never succumb to these blatant sins as being normal and okay. I may not judge them, for that is Your job, but I also can not join into their sinfulness and allow it to enter into who I am and what I stand for. I will not be ashamed of Your word and all that it stands for even though it does not fit the “political correctness” of our time or country. I will not hate on people but treat all with respect, whether I agree with how they live or not. I am to show grace, mercy, salvation, and Your love. That is what will always be my responsibility. Help me to do this with true righteousness in my heart. In Jesus’ name, amen.
