God Listens

Heavenly Father I praise You for today and for every day I have lived so far. I praise You for being my shepherd and leading me with Your voice, staff, and Holy Spirit. I praise You for walking with me daily and allowing me to be a temple to hold Your Spirit within me. This is why I seek daily, just as David did a long time ago, for You to: “Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me, and know my concerns, and see if there is any rebellious way in me, and lead me in the ancient way.” [Psalm 139:23&24]

Holy Spirit Your word says: “For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.” “This is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. So if we know that He hears whatever we ask, we know that we have whatever we asked of Him.” “You hear, O Lord, the desire of the afflicted; you encourage them and listen to their cry.” [1 Peter 3:12; 1 John 5:14 & 15; Psalms 10:17]

Holy Spirit I find comfort in the fact that You actually listen and understand me when I cry out to You, or when I talk to You as I walk through this life. I am in awe that You desire a relationship with me and that You try so hard to help me understand and gain wisdom. You listen and then help me discern what to do next. Let me always trust in the truth that because You love me, You listen to me and when it is time and within Your will, You answer me and show me Your love.

For this reason, I kneel before the Father, from whom his whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches, he may strengthen me with power through his Spirit in my inner being, so that Christ may dwell in my heart through faith. And I pray that I, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that I may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all I ask or imagine, according to Your power that is at work within me, to You, be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever!
