Heavenly Father, I praise You today for being my God and Savior. I praise You for instilling in me a purpose, a plan, and wisdom. I seek more wisdom, discernment, understanding, and knowledge so that I can fully live the way You intended me to live. Help me to take command of my morning as You spoke to Job about doing and shake all the evil from it.
Holy Spirit, You inspired Solomon to write: Train up a child in the way He should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it. [Proverbs 22:6] I praise You for allowing me to grow up in a home that followed Jesus. I know my life and my home was not perfect, but love and Jesus existed there. As I grew, I learned about You through Sunday School, Vocational Bible School, Youth Camps, and Revivals. After I attended a Holiness Camp Meeting in 1982, I went forward and asked for forgiveness and was given salvation. Since then I have been on a journey of seeking wisdom, knowledge, understanding and discernment from Your word, reading good books, listening to testimonies, sermon series,
learning to worship through music, listening to nature, observing the world through the eyes of Jesus and paying attention to You, the Holy Spirit who lives within me. I am by no means perfect, and I have made foolish decisions as well as wise ones. I have learned to abide in Christ, but I have had times of doubt, apathy, grief, and stubbornness. Your way is before me and will always be until I reach eternity and live with You forever. I am no longer training but doing and living. Let me never forget, but also let me always be looking forward.
The day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless, we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new
earth in which righteousness dwells. Therefore, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless; and consider that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation…but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen. 2 Peter 3:10-15&18
