Freedom Requires Responsibility

freedom

Heavenly Father I praise You for living in a country that does not attempt to stop me from worshipping You. I praise You for inspiring a group of men to forge out a nation that would eventually be a country free to all citizens who live here.  But like any freedom we need guardrails to keep us on the road to You. I praise You for Your word and wisdom that teaches us that freedom requires responsibility.

Holy Spirit help me to glean from the wisdom Paul wrote in his letter when he said, “I have the right to do anything,” but not everything is beneficial, not everything is constructive. No one should seek their own good, but the good of others…So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. Do not cause anyone to stumble…so that they may be saved. Follow the example of Christ. (1 Cor. 10:23,24,31,32b,33; 11:1)

Holy Spirit help me to live a life that is free of anxiety, free of worry, free of fear, but help me to be aware of the principles of Christ and His word.  Holy Spirit fill me with Your Holy Fire so that I am completely filled and consumed by it so that I can serve Christ as a living sacrifice fully fulfilling my purpose that I was created to do in life so that Your kingdom can begin to be built here on the earth.  Help me to sacrifice my freedom to do what I want so that I fully am in the will of God.  Let me not only love my neighbor but be a servant leader that demonstrates a life lived with the guidance of the Holy Spirit and my speech is dictated by the living water that is in me which flows from my heart. Be my lamp so that I do not stumble or veer of  the path I am to walk while I am here on this earth.

I pray and ask that I may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that I may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy; giving thanks to the Father who has qualified me to be a partaker of the inheritance of the saints in the light.  He has delivered me from the power of darkness and conveyed me into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom I have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.  He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.  For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers.  All things were created through Him for Him.  And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence. (Colossians 1:9-18) Holy Spirit lead me this day to be completely sold out to serving Christ bringing into captivity any thought that would make me deviate from this course or cause me to sin. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
