Don’t Let Me be Justified or Prideful

prideHeavenly Father, I praise You for teaching wisdom to a world that is extremely foolish. I praise You for creating all of us in Your Image and with a purpose. I praise You for occasionally sending ministering Angels to attend and pass messages on to us. I praise You for the promptings from the Holy Spirit.

Paul’s words are recorded in the book of Romans 3:23-26—for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in his blood. He did this to demonstrate his justice, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished—he did it to demonstrate his justice at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus. And James wrote in the book of James 2:8-13—If you fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” you are doing well. But if you show partiality, you are committing sin and are convicted by the law as sinners. For whoever shall keep the whole law and yet offend in one point is guilty of breaking the whole law. For He who said, “Do not commit adultery,” also said, “Do not kill.” Now if you do not commit adultery, yet you kill, you have become a lawbreaker. So speak and so do as those who will be judged by the law of liberty. For he who has shown no mercy will have judgment without mercy, for mercy triumphs over judgment.

Holy Spirit help me to show no partiality to people because of their sins or their spirituality. Help me to not judge so I will not be placed under judgment. Help me not to compare myself to others or measure myself by others. Help me to only measure myself by Chris’s standards and expectations. Help me to not think myself better than anyone and to not feel inferior either. Help me to accept all people when I meet them and then decern whether their intentions are good or evil. Help me to do a better job maneuvering my way through relationships especially with the ones who are closest to me.

Psalms 145—I will exalt You, my God and King, and I will praise Your name forever and ever. Every day I will bless You, and I will praise Your name forever and ever. Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised, and His greatness is unfathomable. One generation shall praise Your works to another and shall declare Your mighty acts. I will speak of the glorious honor of Your majesty and of Your wondrous works. Thay shall speak of the might of Your awesome acts, and I will declare Your greatness. They shall abundantly declare the fame of Your great goodness and shall sing of Your righteousness. For You are gracious and full of compassion and slow to anger, and great in mercy. You are good to all, and Your compassion is over all Your works. All Your works shall praise You, O Lord, and Your godly ones shall bless You. They shall speak of the glory Your kingdom and talk of Your power, to make known to people His mighty acts and glorious majesty of His kingdom. Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and Your dominion endures throughout all generations. The Lord upholds who fall, and raises up all who are bowed down. The eyes of all wait upon You, and You give them their food in due season. You open Your hand and satisfy the desire of every living thing. You are righteous in all Your ways and loving in all Your works. You are near to all who call upon You, to all who call upon You in truth. You will fulfill the desire of those who fear You; You also will hear their cry and will save them. You preserve all who love You, but You will destroy the wicked. My mouth shall speak the praise of You, and let all people bless Your Holy Name forever and ever. Amen. [Psalm 145]
