Do I show Compassion

I will thank You, my Lord, with all my heart; I will declare all Your wondrous works. I will rejoice and boast about You; I will sing about Your name, Most High. [Psalm 9:1&2]

Holy Spirit Your word tells us that even when Jesus tried to get away and grieve the death of John the Baptist, “When he went ashore, he saw a large crowd, had compassion on them, and healed their sick.” [Matthew 14:14] As human as Christ was, He still showed compassion. Daily I face many people who take up my time with needs, wants, and troubles. Help me to be a true Christ follower by still demonstrating compassion even when circumstances make me desire privacy, personal time, or just plain irritation. Your word also says: A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this, all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another. [John 13:34&35]

Holy Spirit help me to follow Christ’s teachings so I can fulfill what He said: “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to my Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.” Also, help me to understand better what John wrote: “My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth. And by this, we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before Him.” “If our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God and receive from him anything we ask because we obey his commands and do what pleases him.” [John 14:12-14; 1 John 3:18&19; 1 John 3:21-22]

I will remember the words that were previously spoken by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ. They said, “In the last days there will be scoffers who will walk after their ungodly desires.” These are the men who cause divisions, sensual, devoid of the Spirit. But I will build myself up in my most holy faith. I will pray in the Holy Spirit. I will keep myself in the love of God while I am waiting for the mercy of Jesus Christ, which leads me to eternal life. On some I will demonstrate compassion, using discernment. And others save with fear while pulling them out of the fire, hating even the garment stained by the flesh. Now to Him who is able to keep me from falling and to present me blameless before the presence of His glory with rejoicing, to the only wise God my Savior, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever. Amen. Jude 17-24 (MEV)
