Choices to Live, Die, Do Good or Evil

Heavenly Father I praise You for Your word and for the consistency of who You are. In a world where change is constant and time does not stop, You are the one foundation that is not moved. You created all things and all beings, yet You are available to all of us. I praise You for creating me and for creating within me the desire to reach for more and to seek You in all ways possible.

Holy Spirit, You told the people who would go to the promised land the following: For this commandment which I command you today is not too mysterious for you, nor is it far off.

It is not in heaven, that you should say, “Who will ascend into heaven for us and bring it to us, that we may hear it and do it?” Nor is it beyond the sea, that you should say, “Who will go over the sea for us and bring it to us, that we may hear it and do it?” But the word is very near you, in your mouth and your heart, that you may do it. “See, I have set before you today life and good, death and evil, in that I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments, His statutes, and His judgments, that you may live and multiply; and the Lord your God will bless you in the land which you go to possess. But if your heart turns away so that you do not hear, and are drawn away, and worship other gods and serve them, I announce to you today that you shall surely perish; you shall not prolong your days in the land which you cross over the Jordan to go in and possess. I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessings and cursing; therefore, choose life, that both you and your descendants may live; that you may obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him, for He is your life and the length of your days. [Deuteronomy 30:11-20]

Holy Spirit I commit to You today that I choose life, I choose to follow and to love with all my heart, and that I will seek You daily and cling to Your word, Your Spirit, and Your ways. I will stand firmly on the foundation that as John said Christ is the word and the word is Christ that through Him I will be saved. I will learn as James instructed to seek wisdom and live as a sacrifice as Paul instructed so that I will know, do, and live Your will daily. I will choose to command my mornings to make my day start in Your presence as You so eloquently told Job he should be doing. Let Your Spirit reside in me and allow me to renew my mind daily so that I can love you with all my heart, body, spirit, and soul. This is my eternal choice, I seek You to help me to stay the course as I continue to live life as I was created to do.

The end of all things is near. Therefore, be clear-minded and self-controlled so that you can pray. Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in various forms. If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen. 1 Peter 4:7-11
