Being a Friend of God

Heavenly Father, I praise You for the life You have given me. I praise You for being with me even when I lost Philip and many of the pregnancies, we had that reached 23 weeks. I praise You for helping me survive 2 bouts with cancer, a bad truck accident, two times of being septic, having blood clots that reached my lungs, and being threatened for my life on 3 occasions. I praise You for the ministry of teaching people to pray scriptures and for allowing me to be on the worship team at church.

Holy Spirit Your word tells us that Moses and You spoke face to face as a man speaks to a friend. [Exodus 33:11] In another portion You said, “Hear now My word. If there is a prophet among you I the Lord will make Myself known to him in a vision, and I will speak to him in a dream. Not so with My servant Moses, he is entrusted with all My house. Face to face I speak with him clearly, and not in riddles, and the likeness of the Lord will he behold. [Numbers 11:6-8] Then John wrote: Beloved, now are we not the children of God, and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be. But we know that when He appears, we shall be like Him, for we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. Everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure. [1 John 3:2-3] And the Hebrew Author wrote: But Christ is faithful over God’s house as a Son, whose house we are if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of our hope firm to the end. [Hebrews 3:6] As Your living temple I desire Your Spirit to dwell within me, through me, and breathe out of me to others. I seek to have an intimate relationship with You, and that I can grow into the faith, especially through prayer to be known as a friend of Yours. I seek to speak to You as a friend to a friend. I know this requires that I keep myself righteous, pure, and fully attentive to Your voice, promptings, and Spirit. Help me to truly live a life of a living sacrifice so I can know who You are and what I should be, and be doing. Help me to daily renew my mind so that my whole life and focus is on who You are. Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O God, my rock and my redeemer. [Psalm 19:14] Let me fulfill the words of Jesus when he said: “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to my Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it. [John 14:12-14]

Praise be to You, God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed me in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For He chose me, in him before the creation of the world, to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love, he predestined me to be adopted as his son through Jesus, by His pleasure and will—to the praise of His glorious grace, which he has freely given me in the One He loves. In Him I have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, by the riches of God’s grace that He lavished on me with all wisdom and understanding. And He made known to me the mystery of His will according to His good pleasure, which He purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times will have reached their fulfillment—to bring all things in heaven and on earth together under one head, even Christ. In Him I was also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of His will, so that I, who has the first to hope in Christ, might be for the praise of His glory. And I also was included in Christ when I heard the word of truth, the gospel of my salvation. Having believed, I am marked in Him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing my inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory. Amen. Ephesians 1:3-14
