Battle Within

Heavenly Father I praise You for keeping my daughter safe as my new grandson was born yesterday.  I praise You for helping all of them to be well.  I praise You for the time with my two other grandchildren and for my wife canning tomatoes for the winter months ahead.  I praise You for teaching her how to can and cook.

Holy Spirit I ask that You would heal my knee, and help my wife’s sore feet and legs get better today.  I pray that You would put a hedge of protection around my grandchildren at preschool and my daughter, son-in-law and new baby at the hospital to not get sick or COVID.

Holy Spirit help me to continue to humble myself and seek You when life gets tough or frustrating.  Help me to remember to reach out to You first before reacting knowing that for though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh.  For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. [2 Corinthians 10:3-5]  For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen.  For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal. [2 Corinthians 4:17&18]  We live by faith, not by sight. Since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God. [2 Corinthians 5:7; 2 Corinthians 7:1]

Holy Spirit continue to help me control my tongue and to bring into captivity every though so that I honor You and allow nothing to come between You and me.  Help me to daily renew my mind with Your scripture, with good books, good music and good productive fellowship.  Help me to always be aware of and assist the least of these pointed out in Your word so that I can be considered a good and faithful servant.  In Jesus’ name, amen.
